Listed below a few examples of the projects we have completed for our clients:

Network Design: National Travel Company

Planning, Design & Implementation of the data network for 9 call centers throughout the US to support one of the world’s largest Travel Services. This included a fully fault tolerant design with 5 9’s availability, redundancy at layers 1-3 and power for approximately 3000 seats; CiscoWorks network management implementation, a Central Resource Site, and resource recommendations.

Network Design: Broadband Services Provider

Full cycle of PDIM consulting for a startup fiber-to-the-home overbuilder’s back-end network, which carried billing, OAM&P, and other enterprise traffic. Included business-to-technology mapping & discovery, needs assessment, design based on 5 9’s availability, performance, scalability, security and redundancy. Deliverables included business mapping, conceptual, logical, physical and component level documentation & recommendations. Provided oversight & project management for pilot & implementation phases.

Through interviews with the client & vendors, our consultants were able to assess the truly critical performance and redundancy needs for a nationwide startup company.  The client's initial guess was to use an OC-3 at each location and an OC-12 at the head-end to satisfy their bandwidth needs.  Through our research, we discovered that a fractional DS-3 at each remote site would give them the initial bandwidth they needed, with plenty of room (73%) left to grow.  By knowing the facts of their true needs up-front, the company saved thousands of dollars each month on recurring bandwidth costs from providers, along with a substantial savings in initial hardware costs

Network Design: High Availability Entertainment Network

Design & implement VLAN design for a Denver area Sports Arena, including fully redundant Internet access through multiple PIX, on-demand video server support, hot standby for each VLAN via multiple RSM’s.

Network Design: University Network

Design & implement fully redundant VLAN design for University network, utilizing fast etherchannel and GIG-e to the closets, switched 100 to the desktops, redundant MSM’s and SUP3 cards from a 6500 in the MDF to 40+ 2900, 3000, and 4000 series switches in the IDFs. Integrate with existing VTP domain.

Network Migration:  National Insurance Company

Design & implement conversion plan for national insurance company from RIP to RIP2, based on client objectives, with no down time. Design redundant links to business partners for critical financial data, based on fully dynamic metrics.

Network Implementation: High Availability Implementation

Implement redundant BGP connections to multiple ISP’s for local correspondence company, providing dynamic failover for both inbound & outbound traffic.

Wireless: High Speed Wholesale Transport Provider

Develop & implement testing procedures for high-speed wireless wholesale transport provider.  Performance testing on 12000, 7500 and 7200 routers, VIP4-80, POS, OC-3, OC-12, DPT, etc., using SmartBITS test equipment to measure results of access lists, policy routing, commited access rates (CAR), others.  Develop and provide proof-of-concept for new product offerings.

IP Telephony: School System
Planning, design and implementation of a 24,000 seat IP telephony system for several states in the Mexican primary school system, using customized open-source technology.  System required a closed telephony environment which could integrate with a .NET-based monitoring system to track classroom events and send panic signals, and also run over the worst possible lines (satellite, GPRS & dsl over Internet) over single- and double-NAT scenarios.  Work with Customer and their providers to ensure the best QoS possible.  Design and development of custom scripts for integration, nation-wide numbering scheme, Spanish-language installation and telephone firmware modifications.

IP Telephony: Call Center
Complete Planning, Design and Implementation of a 280 seat Cisco IPCC Express Call Center environment.   Technologies include redundant call processing and contact center servers, Unity voicemail integration, CSQs, workflows, database access for call routing, screen pops, whisper coaching via multicast, java-based scripting, skills-based routing, time-of-day routing, CallerID routing, PRI failover and analog/fax integration.  Network design included complete layer 1, 2, & 3 design for performance, redundancy, Quality of Service and scalability.

IP Telephony: Pharmaceutical Research Company
Operations, support, design & implementation of ongoing and new projects for a 1500 seat pharmaceutical  research company in a campus environment, using Call Manager 3.3.3, IPCC Express, Emergency Responder, Personal Assistant, and custom IP phone services. Projects included CCM4 upgrade, testing for Video Telephony, IPCC and AA scripting, and wireless IP telephony.  Infrastructure includes 6500’s with 6608’s and CMM’s, VG248, gatekeeper, inter-cluster trunks, all types of IP phones and IP Communicator.

IP Telephony: Global Mining Company

Complete Assessment, Design & Implementation of an AVVID architecture for an 800 seat US site of a global coal mining company, using Cisco Call Manager 3.2.2c and Unity 3.15.  This project included voice gateways, IP phones, analog gateways, soft phones, QoS, CoS, queuing & VLAN strategies, redundancy, route patterns/filters/lists/groups, SRST, overhead paging, etc.

IP Telephony: Power Supply Manufacturer

Performed design and deployment of a Cisco IP Telephony solution for the Denver-based office of a Power Supply manufacturer.  Client was under a strict schedule for rapid deployment to release their current PBX obligation.  IEC took a hands-on approach, including design of a redundant call processing system (CCM 3.3.2), multiple T1 circuits for local, long distance, and toll-free inbound calls, support for analog devices, and Unity Voicemail. The Cisco ICS 7750 hardware platform was used for this project, utilizing 2 external 1760 voice gateways.  Also included was a handoff via T1 to RightFax, which passes DID to individual fax mailboxes.

Voice over IP: National Financials Correspondence Company

Designed & implemented VoIP over Frame Relay for a national financials correspondence company. Utilized bandwidth management and traffic shaping techniques at both layer 2 and layer 3.  Voice traffic terminated to different model PBX’s at both ends via digital T1 link from the router, using an 8K codec between routers.  This allowed for 24 voice lines plus data traffic over a 784KB dedicated frame relay connection.
